Chair and Professor, Department of Global Health

The Milken Institute School of Public Health at The George Washington University is seeking a distinguished Chair and Professor to lead the Department of Global Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of research and teaching, with a focus on improving the health and well-being of underserved populations worldwide.

About the Department of Global Health

The Department of Global Health is a vibrant and diverse community of scholars, with faculty expertise in a range of areas including reproductive health, health policy, global nutrition, and infectious diseases. We offer a range of degree programs, including a PhD in Global Health Sciences and several Master's programs in Global Health.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Provide leadership and vision for the Department of Global Health, building on our existing strengths and extending our reach in the field.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Department, with a focus on research, teaching, and service.
  • Mentor and support junior faculty and students, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Secure funding and resources to support the Department's research and educational programs.
  • Represent the Department and the University in national and international forums, promoting our work and building partnerships with other institutions.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral or terminal degree in a relevant field (e.g. PhD, MD, DrPH, ScD).
  • Established record of research and teaching, with a focus on global health.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and managing budgets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
