Epidemiology Research Professor

Job Summary:
The George Washington University is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Research Professor to serve as the Project Director for the DC Cohort HIV study. This is a full-time, specialized faculty position at the rank of Assistant Research Professor, with a 90% effort dedicated to the study and 10% to educational and/or administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee study staff and work with the study Principal Investigator and data management partners to direct and manage the day-to-day study operations.
- Assist and lead design and analysis of manuscripts for the peer-reviewed literature using the DC Cohort database.
- Collaborate with partners at the NIH and DC DOH, Cerner, the 14 site clinical investigators, and other stakeholders to improve patient care and ensure the continued success and growth of the study.
- Write grants using the DC Cohort network of clinical sites, robust database, and existing research infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD) or PhD in Epidemiology and/or Public Health with extensive knowledge of HIV.
- At least 3-5 years of study coordination experience in HIV/AIDS epidemiology and/or other large cohort studies in the field or in a related area.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications, knowledge of HIV-related clinical issues and related outcomes, and strong written and oral communication skills.
