Senior Construction Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Inspector to join our team at the Virginia Department of Transportation. As a Senior Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting roadway, structure, and bridge construction projects of routine to moderate complexity.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with plans and contract documents
- Review and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment
- Prepare thorough and accurate project documentation
- Collaborate with contractors and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure project completion
- Experience with construction methods, materials, equipment, standards, and terminology
- Knowledge of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in a broad range of road and bridge construction inspection activities
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and Site Manager or PlanGrid
- Experience overseeing the work of others
- Possession of current certifications and completion of fall protection and confined space training
