Position: Senior EHS Specialist / Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist

Location: Raynham, MA - 100% Onsite

Contract Duration: 4 months

Compensation: $40/hour

Travel Requirements: Up to 5% domestic travel

Overview:

The Senior EHS Specialist will operate under general supervision to strategize, lead, and execute Safety initiatives that align with MedTech objectives. This role is crucial in establishing and maintaining effective processes to identify, assess, and mitigate Safety risks within the workplace. Collaboration with various operational sectors, including R&D and office teams, is essential to provide technical guidance and foster continuous improvement efforts. The specialist will conduct thorough assessments and data analysis to formulate strategies that drive compliance with CLIENT, franchise, and site objectives. Adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, alongside CLIENT EHS Standards, is paramount. Participation in diverse, high-performing, multi-functional teams will be required to address Safety challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of relevant local and federal safety regulations (e.g., OSHA) and reporting obligations.
  • Engage with site leadership regarding safety compliance protocols, practices, and challenges.
  • Coordinate site teams and committees to create and enforce specific Safety practices and procedures.
  • Provide technical Safety support during the Management of Change process for new construction, equipment acquisitions, and product development.
  • Plan and implement the electronic work permit (ePTW) project in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Establish and oversee the contractor safety program and permit to work system to assess risks and implement effective controls.
  • Design and deliver technical training and safety awareness initiatives aligned with the company's hazard/risk profile.
  • Conduct annual reviews of programs, identify gaps, develop management action plans, and track progress.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or specialized degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Preferred certifications: CSP, CIH, and/or CHMM.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in Safety and Industrial Hygiene, focusing on risk identification, evaluation, and control.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in project management, with the ability to manage schedules and budgets effectively.
  • Exceptional planning, influencing, organizational, and time management abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, complemented by effective written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with the ability to create presentations, spreadsheets, graphs, and reports.
  • Experience with EHS data reporting and tracking systems.
  • Technical expertise in various Safety and Industrial Hygiene domains, including contractor safety, ergonomics, electrical safety, machine safety, or biosafety.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment.
