Position Summary:
The Instructor for Early Youth Employment Services (EYES) is tasked with delivering the EYES curriculum to middle and high school students. This position also involves liaising with educational institutions, referral agencies, parent advisory groups, and students. The PRN Instructor must exhibit flexibility and will operate on an as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the provision of services for students enrolled in the EYES program, from referral to program completion.
- Instruct pre-vocational skills curriculum, including career exploration, job readiness, and interview techniques, to students in middle and high school.
- Facilitate and execute curriculum training sessions.
- Create detailed lesson plans tailored for students.
- Deliver pre-vocational skills training either in-person at designated schools or through virtual platforms.
- Coordinate class schedules with participating schools.
- Supervise and conduct classes at educational institutions and the Tommy Nobis Center.
- Maintain effective classroom management and control.
- Promote awareness of the summer EYES program within the community.
- Compile and submit monthly progress reports for program participants.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in special education, rehabilitation, sociology, behavioral sciences, business administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an educational role.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
