Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Technician at Cone Health is responsible for sterilizing medical equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety and quality care.

This role involves decontaminating, reassembling, and sterilizing instrumentation according to standard work, guidelines, policies, and procedures.

The successful candidate will inspect and assemble instruments to ensure patient safety and compliance with sterilization requirements.

Responsibilities include removing instruments found to be defective, broken, or missing components, and using standard precautions when handling contaminated items or instruments.

The Sterile Processing Technician will also interpret and record results of sterilization with every cycle, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.

Additionally, the role involves performing chemical, biological, and mechanical tests, reporting any positive results or sterilization malfunctions to leadership in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Certification or training in sterilization and decontamination procedures
