Role Responsibilities: The Program Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the daily operations of a Tutoring Center, providing essential administrative and clerical assistance to tutoring center staff, students, and instructors.

This position involves:

  • Supporting the center through leadership, management, and mentoring of front desk personnel.
  • Assisting in the oversight of front desk operations.
  • Collaborating with the Program Specialist/Coordinator to ensure all staff are informed about center policies and procedures.
  • Helping develop, train, and mentor the front desk team, offering constructive feedback and leading regular discussions.
  • Identifying student-facing program needs, including materials, information, and supplies.
  • Maintaining effective communication with the Director, tutoring staff, and supervisors.
  • Administering the calculator rental program, which includes generating reports and managing billing tasks.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or be a current student at Tacoma Community College. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Previous experience in one of TCC's Tutoring Centers and familiarity with TutorTrac, TracCloud, or similar databases is preferred.

Work Schedule: This is a non-permanent hourly position, with a maximum of 17 hours per week.
