We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraprofessional Support Specialist to join our team at Summit Public Schools. As a key member of our educational team, you will provide critical support to our students with disabilities, helping them to achieve academic success and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the instruction of students with disabilities, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed by special education teachers.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of student progress, including attendance, anecdotal records, and progress monitoring data.
- Provide instructional support in literacy and numeracy, adapting general education curricular materials to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with special education teachers, instructional staff, and other school personnel to ensure a comprehensive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student-centered plans.
- Use data-driven decision-making to inform instruction and drive student outcomes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree or completion of 2 years of college (48 units); or Associate's degree (AA) or passing score on State Parapro assessment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to student success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and families.
