Position Title: Manager, Software Engineer

Position Overview:
Are you ready to be part of a thriving hospitality technology sector? We are seeking a skilled Development Manager to oversee our Channel Manager & Distribution division and spearhead the creation of our next-generation cloud-native Channel Manager product.

About the Channel Manager:
This platform links numerous hotels with various distribution channels, aiming to streamline the distribution of Availability, Rate, and Inventory (ARI) along with Reservation delivery from a multitude of OTAs, GDSs, Wholesalers, Tour Operators, Channel Managers, and Meta Partners.

We proudly connect with renowned partners such as Expedia, Amadeus, Sabre, TravelPort, and Agoda. This component is crucial, requiring high availability and the capacity for significant scalability to meet our ambitious growth targets.

Key Design Features of Channel Manager:

  • High speed, scalability, and stability to manage millions of ARI events daily.
  • Facilitation of necessary orchestration, data model translation, and message conversion between Hotels and Partners.
  • User Interface designed for defining distribution rules.
  • Balance between a common platform and customization to enhance maintainability while addressing customer needs.

Role Responsibilities:
As a Development Manager, you will lead a team of Developers, Quality Analysts, and Business Analysts based in the US. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing your team in the US while collaborating with teams in Europe and India.
  • Guiding and mentoring Engineers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Quality Engineers to ensure a focus on delivering high-quality, secure, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
  • Participating in company initiatives that promote best practices and employee engagement.
  • Building trusting relationships with business partners (Product Marketing, Sales, Implementation, Customer Support, Architects) to define and prioritize technical and functional backlog items, identify process improvements, and manage production escalations.
  • Contributing to the program vision and roadmap.
  • Negotiating priorities with Product Strategists and technical teams, and managing the development roadmap while coordinating resource allocation.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience:
Proven experience in managing an R&D team as a People Manager or Team Leader is essential. A minimum of 5 years in software architecture and design, particularly in Java applications, is required. Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.

Business Acumen:
Ability to interact effectively with team members at all levels in a fast-paced environment, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Strong attention to detail, hands-on troubleshooting skills, and good listening abilities are crucial. Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and deadlines is necessary. Experience with Microservices, event-driven architecture, and enterprise system integration is advantageous. Familiarity with API design and building customer-facing web services adhering to REST standards is a plus.

Skills:
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, strong logical thinking capabilities, and the ability to comprehend complex applications and systems. A proactive and curious mindset, excellent communication skills, and a problem-solving attitude are essential.
