Position Title: Manager, Software Engineer

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Development Manager to oversee our Channel Manager & Distribution division, contributing to the evolution of our innovative cloud-native Channel Manager product.

About the Channel Manager:
This essential component connects numerous hotels with various distribution channels, aiming to streamline the distribution of Availability, Rate, and Inventory (ARI) alongside Reservation delivery from hundreds of OTAs, GDSs, Wholesalers, Tour Operators, Channel Managers, and Meta Partners.

Our partnerships include renowned names such as Expedia, Amadeus, Sabre, TravelPort, and Agoda. This system is critical for our operations, demanding high availability and scalability to support our ambitious growth targets.

Key Design Features:

  • Robustness, speed, and stability to manage millions of ARI events daily.
  • Essential orchestration and data model translation between Hotels and Partners.
  • User Interface to define distribution protocols.
  • A balance between a unified platform and customization to meet diverse customer needs.

What You Will Experience:
In this role, you will engage with a new architectural framework, gaining substantial technical and functional insights within a global environment that merges the best practices from TravelClick and Amadeus, serving both mid-sized chains and large enterprises.

Your Responsibilities:
As a Development Manager, you will:

  • Lead a team of Developers, Quality Analysts, and Business Analysts based in the US.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management to establish development roadmaps, allocate resources, and align organizational structures with strategic goals.
  • Mentor Engineers, Developers, Business Analysts, and Quality Engineers to ensure a focus on delivering high-quality, secure, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
  • Foster relationships with business partners across various departments to define and prioritize technical and functional tasks, identify process enhancements, and manage production escalations.
  • Contribute to the overall program vision and roadmap.
  • Negotiate priorities with Product Strategists and technical teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience is required.

Experience:
Proven experience in managing an R&D team as a People Manager or Team Leader is essential. A minimum of 5 years in software architecture and design, preferably with Java applications, is required. Experience in the Hospitality sector is highly preferred.

Business Acumen:
Ability to effectively engage with team members at all levels in a dynamic environment, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities are crucial.

Technical Skills:
Experience with Microservices, event-driven architecture, and enterprise system integration is advantageous. Familiarity with API design and customer-facing web services adhering to REST standards is a plus.

Key Competencies:
Leadership, strong interpersonal skills, logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills are vital for success in this role.
