Director of Group Sales

MDM Group Marriotts is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Group Sales to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving group sales from specified geographic territories for our hotel.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct targeted account research to determine potential business opportunities.
- Respond to incoming business opportunities in a timely manner and ensure they are within hotel parameters.
- Solicit and qualify new accounts whose profile meets hotel needs.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and solicit new group business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
- Maintain and grow business of existing accounts.
- Identify and develop new markets.
- Understand competitor's strengths and weaknesses and effectively sell against them.
- Work collaboratively with on and off-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated and complementary.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers to expand group sales opportunities.
- College degree or commensurate experience.
- Minimum three years local corporate sales experience in assigned territory.
- Computer literate.
- Good organizational skills.
- Good verbal and written communications.
- Ability to explain instructions, procedures, or information to others effectively.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Bilingual English/Spanish helpful.
- Flexible, creative, self-starter.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
