We are in search of a Cider Production Specialist to join our expanding beverage team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong enthusiasm for cider, excellent communication abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-evolving industry. This role reports to the Senior Beverage Manager and collaborates closely with the Cider Production team leads to fulfill assigned tasks to the highest standards.

The primary responsibilities for this position include operating canning and kegging machinery, as well as preparing and cleaning the production area for subsequent operations. The afternoon shift typically runs from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, with some flexibility based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and stage ingredients accurately for canning processes.
  • Blend ingredients with precision during canning operations.
  • Operate the filling machinery effectively during canning.
  • Manage line changeovers as required for canning.
  • Execute start-up and end-of-day procedures as necessary.
  • Operate kegging machinery during kegging operations.
  • Assist with fermentation processes as needed.
  • Support juice receiving and pitching activities.
  • Set up and manage liquid flow paths for operations, clean-in-place (CIP) processes, and filtration.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the facility and equipment.
  • Ensure all products adhere to established quality standards.
  • Comply with food safety policies and regulations.
  • Document processes, measurements, and additions accurately in batch logs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the beverage industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a cellarperson is advantageous.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including booster.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on hygiene, safety, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to lift ingredients and kegs weighing up to 67 lbs and remain on feet for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn and operate machinery.
  • Ability to follow and contribute to process documentation.
  • Quick learner with strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and initiative; approachable and outgoing.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
