Job Overview

The Cider Production Specialist will report directly to the Senior Beverage Manager and collaborate closely with the Cider Production team leads to fulfill assigned tasks to the highest standards. The primary responsibilities for the afternoon shift include operating canning and kegging machinery, as well as ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of the production area for subsequent operations.

The afternoon shift typically runs from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, with slight variations based on production needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and stage ingredients accurately for canning processes.
  • Blend ingredients with precision during canning operations.
  • Operate the filling machinery during canning activities.
  • Manage line changeovers effectively for canning operations.
  • Execute start-up and end-of-day procedures as required by the shift.
  • Operate kegging machinery during kegging processes.
  • Assist with fermentation processes as necessary.
  • Support juice receiving and pitching operations.
  • Set up and manage liquid flow paths for operations, clean-in-place (CIP) procedures, and filtration.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility and equipment.
  • Ensure all products meet established quality standards.
  • Adhere to food safety policies and relevant regulations.
  • Assist in various Cidery, Canning, and Kegging operations as needed.
  • Document processes, measurements, and additions accurately in batch logs.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the beverage industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a cellarperson is advantageous.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including the booster shot.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on hygiene, safety, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Ability to lift ingredients and kegs weighing up to 67 lbs and remain on foot for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to learn and operate machinery.
  • Ability to follow and contribute to process documentation.
  • Quick learner with the ability to grasp tasks and procedures efficiently.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks as necessary.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities and take initiative; be approachable and outgoing.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
