Lead Engineer

Job Summary:
The Thermal System Design Engineer will play a critical role in the development of thermal systems for GE Aviation's engine programs. This position requires a strong understanding of heat transfer and fluid mechanics, as well as the ability to design and analyze complex thermal systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thermal design, analysis, and test definition tasks to support new technology introduction engine programs.
- Utilize heat transfer and fluid mechanics analysis tools to propose thermal systems that meet program requirements.
- Collaborate with large multifunctional engineering design teams to align personal priorities with the needs of the larger team.
- Resolve design issues using established procedures and consult with supervisor and senior team members as needed.
- Clearly communicate design study results and recommendations to technical experts and program leadership.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in disciplinary engineering and science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science or Advanced degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline with an emphasis on heat transfer and design of fluid flow systems.
- Experience in the fundamentals of heat transfer and compressible flows, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
- Experience with gas turbine engine design, with an emphasis on cooling circuit design and analysis.
