Job Description Summary

The Advanced Product Development Section at GE Aerospace is driving innovation in flight technology and advancing propulsion capabilities for military applications. Our focus is on designing, integrating, testing, and supporting cutting-edge technologies for new and derivative engine concepts.

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Lead Engineer to lead elements of the mechanical design and development for an Edison Works New Product Introduction (NPI) program as a Hardware Owner. This role requires a passion for engineering, a deep understanding of the design process, and the ability to drive technical challenges forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, experience, and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
  • Resolves issues in situations within current technical knowledge base and judgment within established procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in a relevant engineering position.
  • Must have or have the ability to obtain a US Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in or background with Material Review Board (MRB) engineering support.
  • Fundamental understanding of turbomachinery hot structures design.
  • Previous experience in design of Aviation components.
  • Proficient with Ansys and Unigraphics.
