Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is on the lookout for a Principal Engineer Software to contribute to the Sentinel program. This role will be based in Roy, Utah.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate and distribute requirements into comprehensive design specifications.
  • Design, develop, and validate software functionalities.
  • Collaborate with Systems and Quality Engineers to ensure compliance with software requirements.
  • Conduct software peer evaluations, manage version control, and implement automated testing, software analysis, continuous integration, and delivery in line with DevSecOps methodologies.
  • Create and maintain software product documentation.
  • Develop software using languages such as C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, and SQL.

This position follows a standard 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees to enjoy every other Friday off. A competitive relocation assistance package may also be available.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 05 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 03 years with a Master's degree, or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date within the last 6 years.
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development using at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java or C++.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and principles.
  • Experience in UI design and development or interpreting complex algorithms and requirements for implementation.

Preferred:

  • Experience with software architecture and design using an MBSE tool, preferably Rhapsody.
  • Experience with automated unit and regression testing.
  • Experience working on an Agile team within a DevSecOps environment.
  • Familiarity with deployment automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
  • Experience with build automation tools like Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI, or Circle.
  • Experience with distributed version control systems (Git, Mercurial).
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.

Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000. This range serves as a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
