Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is in search of a Principal Engineer Software – This role will be focused on supporting the Sentinel program.
The chosen candidate will engage in software development activities. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Deriving and allocating requirements into detailed design specifications.
• Designing, developing, and testing software functionalities.
• Collaborating with Systems and Quality Engineers to ensure software requirements are fulfilled.
• Conducting software peer reviews, managing version control, performing automated testing, and engaging in software analysis, continuous integration, and continuous delivery in alignment with DevSecOps methodologies and best practices.
• Producing software product documentation.
• Developing software in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, SQL.

Required Qualifications:
Principal Software Engineer: 05 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 03 years with a Master's degree, or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree. Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date within the last 6 years. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP). Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development using at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java or C++. Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts. Experience in UI design and development, or the ability to interpret complex algorithms and requirements for implementation.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with software architecture and design using an MBSE tool, preferably Rhapsody. Experience with automated unit and regression testing. Experience working on an Agile team within a DevSecOps environment. Familiarity with deployment automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible. Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, GoCD, Travis CI, or Circle. Experience with distributed version control systems (Git, Mercurial). Experience with Linux operating systems. Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
