This acquisition is expected to bolster our pet food operations significantly.

This position is integral to the Perfection Pet Foods team, which comprises over 250 dedicated employees joining the Post family.


Location Overview:
Our facility in Visalia, CA, spans 360,000 square feet, encompassing manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, and office spaces.

Approximately 250 employees operate here, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to produce a wide array of innovative pet food products.

Visalia is situated in California's San Joaquin Valley, near Sequoia National Park, and features a minor league baseball team and several educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:


The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring inventory accuracy and integrity within the facility.

This position involves receiving incoming shipments, organizing outbound merchandise, and maintaining accurate records of these transactions.

Adherence to the facility's Food Safety and Quality Management System Policies and Procedures is essential.

Core Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Proficient in all essential duties of a Logistics Coordinator

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Capable of guiding and training fellow team members

Manage all inbound/outbound logistics by:
Documenting shortages and addressing damaged goods.

Tracking missing or lost shipments.

Overseeing compliance with food safety and quality standards: Monitoring incoming goods for contamination

Identifying non-conforming products

Rotating stock to prevent expiration.

Accurately preparing all shipping documentation: Attaching identifying information and delivery instructions to containers.

Posting weights and shipment charges.

Maintaining the shipping board in the logistics office

Inspecting and clearing trailers for loading

Skilled in SAP and generating labels for outgoing shipments

Competent in interpreting product information on labels such as lot numbers, expiration dates, and part numbers.

Expert in processes related to logistics operations.

Verifying receipt of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, and other documentation.

Maintaining organized shipping records


Ensure the warehouse and its equipment are kept orderly and clean to promote safety and efficient manufacturing processes.

Operations must be conducted in a manner that prioritizes safety and security within the warehouse.

Responsible for suggesting and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in the assigned area.

Collaborate with warehouse personnel, quality control, and production teams to maximize efficiency.

Report any observed food safety concerns to management.

Notify management of any security breaches or suspicious activities.


Adhere to the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), Daily Routine List (DRL), HACCP procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Provide support for other roles as needed.

Availability for overtime work as required.

Other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

One year of experience in a warehouse setting

Three years of experience in a clerical role

One year of experience with SAP or similar systems

Skills:
Proficient in computer systems.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to perform inventory counts using basic math skills.

Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.

Proficient with scanning equipment.

Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.

Work Environment:
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and machinery.

Regular exposure to dust and noise.

Regular exposure to outdoor conditions.

Occasional exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing.

A valid Driver's License is required for insurance purposes. Management reserves the right to modify job duties as necessary.


Compensation for this position is competitive, with a pay range of up to $24 per hour.
