Sterile Processing Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at MultiCare Health System. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the preparation and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment for use in our operating rooms.
Job Summary:The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the preparation, sterilization, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment. This includes cleaning, disinfecting, wrapping, sterilizing, storing, and dispensing of supplies and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of asepsis and technical knowledge, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment for use in the operating room
- Clean and disinfect equipment and supplies
- Wrap and sterilize equipment and supplies
- Store and distribute equipment and supplies
- Monitor and maintain sterilizers and other equipment
- Assist with the orientation of new employees
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff as needed
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- 18 months of hospital experience in Sterile Processing required
- Operating Room experience preferred
- Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) preferred
