The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) – FLOATER plays a vital role in supporting all Community Inclusion Services (CIS) teams across the designated region, delivering culturally sensitive direct support services in various community-based environments. This position is responsible for stepping in during both scheduled and unscheduled absences of Community Inclusion Professionals. On days when direct support is not required, the CES Floater assists the Director and Program Managers with community site and employment site development, as well as administrative tasks and projects.
The compensation for this role ranges from $18.50 per hour, with an additional hiring bonus of $1,500.
Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM, focusing exclusively on the designated service area.

A typical day will include:
Delivering culturally sensitive direct support to individuals through person-centered strategies, which includes:
- Filling in for both planned and unplanned absences.
- Providing coaching, supervision, and support to clients in community-based settings.
- Designing, implementing, and facilitating weekly and monthly lesson plans.
- Proactively identifying and facilitating job, training, volunteer, or other community activities for program participants.
What you'll need to be successful:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- A valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Immediate access to a vehicle equipped with working seatbelts for participant transportation.
- Comfort in driving a full-size van with multiple passengers.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
- Proficiency in using various computer and mobile device applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the rights and support services available for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
We'd love it if you:
- Have six or more months of hands-on experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Are multilingual (English, Spanish, Tagalog).
- Have experience with electronic case management systems.
- Have experience with individual service plans and goal development.
