Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employee Engagement Specialist to join our team at the City of San Diego, CA. As an Employee Engagement Specialist, you will play a key role in driving employee satisfaction and retention initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detect and Mitigate Risks: Identify trends, gaps, and challenges, and execute solution-focused strategies and programs to mitigate risks.
  • Project Management: Develop and implement large-scale, organization-wide projects delivered on time that improve employee experience, retention, and overall workplace culture.
  • Analyze and Interpret Data: Gather and analyze workforce data and employee feedback through surveys, focus groups, and interviews, integrating insights into actionable strategies for leadership to enhance engagement.
  • Communicate Effectively: Produce high-quality written communications that concisely analyze problems and recommend solutions, and deliver oral presentations to organization leadership.
  • Collaborate: Build constructive relationships with critical stakeholders to share information and influence change, and engage with managers to effectively motivate their teams.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development or Studies, Public or Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience developing and implementing employee engagement strategies and applying organizational development best practices.
