This role involves advanced budget preparation and analysis, requiring strong skills in multitasking, prioritization, problem-solving, written and oral communication, time-management, planning, coordination, attention to detail, and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing the annual operating budget, ensuring accurate allocation of funding sources, analyzing financial reports, and creating ad hoc reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Coordinate LAR completion, analyze the impact of legislation on programs, prepare cost estimates, and assist in developing and monitoring performance measures.
- Confirm fund availability, complete budget certification forms, compile federal funds report, and access accounting details through various agency systems.
- Provide guidance to department staff, assist in training on financial policies, and coordinate budgeting procedures and reporting.
- Assist in reviewing financial reports, participate in workgroups, and undertake other assigned financial tasks.
- Knowledge of accounting, budgetary, and management principles, as well as legal restrictions on fund allocation.
- Strong skills in multitasking, prioritization, problem-solving, written and oral communication, time-management, planning, coordination, attention to detail, and data analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and establishing professional relationships with stakeholders.
