The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team is responsible for designing and managing a comprehensive suite of large-scale, integrated cloud services within a widely distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.

OCI is dedicated to delivering top-tier cloud products that cater to the needs of our clients who are addressing some of the most significant challenges globally.

The Observability organization within OCI is on a steadfast mission to provide a world-class Integrated Observability and Management platform for our clients, ensuring seamless operation across OCI, other cloud environments, and on-premises systems to deliver a unified perspective.

Our integrated Observability and Management platform encompasses Logging, Monitoring, Auditing, SIEM, Events, Inventory, and various other services. We are committed to continuous innovation in each of these services, enhancing their features and ensuring seamless integration to offer valuable insights into your resources and data.

Who are we seeking?

We are in search of engineers with a solid understanding of distributed systems. You should possess experience in implementing customer-facing features and successfully launching them into production. A passion for working on high-scale services and a deep understanding of resilience in such systems is essential. You should be a proficient coder and a versatile distributed systems expert. A focus on simplicity and scalability, comfort in a collaborative, agile environment, and a strong desire to learn are vital traits.

What challenges will you face?

The team is tasked with developing entirely new service features. The rapid growth of the business propels us to create innovative technologies. We recognize that software requires investment. The challenge lies in making informed trade-offs, effectively communicating those decisions, and executing them with precision. We need engineers capable of constructing services that reliably safeguard our customers' cloud environments.

We require engineers who can devise strategies to maintain our solutions at a fast pace while ensuring the security of our customers.

We seek engineers who can develop services that provide additional options for customers and contribute to the overall expansion of Oracle Cloud.


As a member of the software engineering division, you will leverage your foundational to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to undertake software development tasks associated with creating, debugging, or designing software applications or operating systems based on provided design specifications.

Enhance existing software architecture and occasionally propose improvements to the architecture.

Design and develop full-stack, cloud-based web service solutions with a high degree of scalability, reliability, and availability.

Engage in extensive collaboration with engineering teams to deliver complex, large-scale projects.

Demonstrate initiative and enthusiasm in addressing challenging problems with innovative designs.

Required Qualifications

- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience

- 2+ years of total experience in software development

- Proven ability to write high-quality code using Java, GoLang, C#, or similar object-oriented languages

- Demonstrated experience in delivering products and familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle

- Experience in large-scale, distributed services infrastructure

- Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, a sense of ownership, and drive

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)

- Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL)

US:

Hiring Range:
from $62,100 to $158,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.


Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's diverse products, industries, and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off:
Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits.

For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

- Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
