Warehouse Operations Supervisor

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and guiding the workforce in daily activities, ensuring safety and efficiency within the warehouse environment. (This description serves as a guideline; actual duties may vary based on management directives.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the order fulfillment process at the designated distribution center.
  • Conduct inspections of all material handling equipment and the truck fleet, coordinating necessary repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Oversee the routing and dispatch of daily shipping operations with in-house drivers, couriers, and freight carriers.
  • Provide leadership for warehouse functions, including daily operations, facility maintenance, and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Monitor productivity to align with company standards and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate safety training, systems training, and job-specific training for warehouse staff and drivers.
  • Engage effectively with customers, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution of issues to maintain high customer satisfaction levels.
  • Complete all receiving and shipping tasks within the warehouse.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role is preferred.
  • Experience in supervision, safety management, process development, and equipment maintenance is essential.
  • Must maintain active certifications for forklift and stand-up stock selector operation.
  • Strong communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects using appropriate equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and/or RF scanners is preferred.
  • Competence in using a Windows-based computer is necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments accurately and on time.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities with a keen attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written, are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English for effective job performance.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally, both in person and via telephone or two-way radio.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push, pull, or leverage up to 75 lbs.

Mental Requirements:

  • Regularly required to utilize written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily operates in a warehouse setting with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures depending on the season.
