Job Summary:

The Plant Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including month-end processes, preparing financial reports, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and requires a strong understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and account documentation.
  • Prepare GL Account and Bank Reconciliation.
  • Prepare financial statements and other reports to summarize the company's financial position, including month-end reporting, 8th day reporting, gainshare analysis, site communication meeting information, and maintaining the Accounting Policy database.
  • Identify control gaps, develop, and implement appropriate control procedures to resolve control deficiencies.
  • Assist in preparation for internal and external audits.
  • Develop financial analysis and cost accounting skills.
  • Responsible for execution and coordination of physical inventory.
  • Performance Management for any direct reports.
  • Oversee payroll and AP functions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP.
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment with various departments.
  • Experience working with an ERP system.
  • Three (3) years of Plant Manufacturing experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Packaging industry experience.
  • IBMi AS400 experience.
