About the Job

We are looking for a talented Solid Rocket Propulsion Engineer to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Propulsion Engineering team, you will be responsible for applying propulsion modeling techniques to support the conceptual and detailed design and development of rocket-based weapon systems. Your strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer will enable you to develop innovative solutions for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and 10 years of experience with the design and analysis of rocket propulsion systems. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. If you have experience with industrial practices and the full propulsion system life cycle, that is a plus

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10 years of experience with the design and analysis of rocket propulsion systems
  • Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • $90,000 - $330,000 annual salary, depending on experience
