We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Radar System Engineer to join our team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). This is an exciting opportunity to work on the development of next-generation radars for the US Navy.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Creative application of technical skills to identify and solve complex problems related to radar systems.
- Development of novel algorithms using machine learning techniques to improve radar performance.
- Investigation and resolution of issues caused by emergent phenomenology in radar systems.
- Leadership of teams of engineers working on radar, combat system, and missile projects.
- Presentation of analysis and recommendations to sponsors and prime contractors.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of systems engineering experience.
- A strong understanding of radar systems and physics-based phenomena affecting them.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Candidates with a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, and experience with advanced DoD radars and combat systems, will be highly valued.
