Production Equipment Operator

As a Production Sr Operator at General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems, you will be responsible for setting up and operating automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. You will monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Additionally, you will report any malfunctions or abnormalities and make minor adjustments and repairs to equipment, all while performing work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate, test, and monitor assigned equipment according to established guidelines
Observe and conduct operation of equipment and document maintenance needs
Troubleshoot control panels, error lights, and messages to ensure proper equipment function
Communicate with equipment technicians relating to complex issues
Verify equipment data for reporting
Support and assist with the installation of operating equipment
Control and adjust machine settings to complete complex tasks
Assist with training other machine operators
Calculate and assist with numeric controlled programming
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED
3-5 years prior experience in a similar position
Written communication skills
Ability to gather and document information
Ability to lift/move heavy objects
Mechanical knowledge
Safety knowledge
