REPORTS TO: Director of School

OBJECTIVES

  • Design and execute challenging lessons and classroom instruction focused on student achievement, as evidenced by mastery.
  • Establish a classroom atmosphere of high expectations that encourages perseverance through academically rigorous materials. Hold all students accountable for their learning and foster collaborative accountability among peers, while promoting natural exploration and a passion for learning.
  • Engage and build strong relationships with families through effective communication, including phone calls, conferences, and home visits when appropriate.
  • Utilize current student data to inform instruction, planning, and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with all Emerald Academy team members to ensure students achieve high levels of success.
  • Develop strategies that promote student self-assessment and self-monitoring.
  • Document, analyze, and summarize student progress using both formal and informal assessment methods to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Leverage technology to maintain student data and enhance the learning experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a valid Tennessee Teacher License.
  • Must meet the highly qualified criteria for the areas of instruction.
  • Must have a genuine passion for education.
  • Must thrive in an innovative educational environment.
  • Must collaborate effectively to devise creative solutions.
  • Must demonstrate a proven track record of expertise in their subject area, particularly in teaching literacy.
  • Must exhibit a growth mindset, showing flexibility to learn new methodologies and present ideas for enhancing learning and the institution.
  • Must believe in the potential of all students to learn and achieve at high academic standards.
  • Must commit to being an integral part of a dedicated staff that tirelessly works towards the academic success of all our scholars.
