The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, procuring, and monitoring grant funds to support programs of interest to and supported by the County and/or other local jurisdictions, agencies, and organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify possible funding sources to develop programs that may be available
  • Prepare written proposals to funding sources, explaining the proposed program focus, means to accomplish the goal, and dollar amount necessary to effect a successful conclusion
  • Monitor grant compliance, working in conjunction with the receiving department, although not responsible for fiscal disbursement/audit of the program
  • Perform professional-level work under the general supervision of the Director of Planning and the administrative direction of the County Administrator
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher and two (2) years of experience involving research and writing grant proposals, preparation of supporting budgets, composing narratives, gathering internal and external data for grant submission, and administration of grants
  • Associate's Degree or higher and four (4) years of experience involving research and writing grant proposals, preparation of supporting budgets, composing narratives, gathering internal and external data for grant submission, and administration of grants
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in grant writing, research, and administration
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Working Conditions

The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Planning and the administrative direction of the County Administrator. The employee may be required to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
