Job Summary

Rochester Sensors LLC is seeking a highly skilled Quality Lab Technician to join our team in a full-time capacity. As a Quality Lab Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and calibration of our measuring test equipment, as well as performing inspections and calibration of all measuring test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality and Calibration
    • Maintain the quality and calibration labs to ISO 9001 and ANSI/ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
    • Perform inspections and calibration of all measuring test equipment.
    • Maintain calibration records of all measuring and test equipment.
  • Test and Calibration Procedures
    • Modify existing or write new calibration procedures, as required.
    • Perform audits to ensure all measuring and test equipment is current in calibration.
    • Provide periodic report on calibration status.
  • Test Lab Support
    • Responsible for completing assigned calibrations, test orders, involving supporting priorities, evaluating test orders for thoroughness, and reporting accurate test results.
    • Provide support in all aspects of the Test Lab including quality, timeliness and final report results.
  • Test and Failure Analysis
    • Conduct tests in accordance with the Test Lab Status Log.
    • Accurately report and record test data as outlined by department processes and engineering requirements.
  • Reliability Testing
    • Provide support to design and execute pre-product reliability tests, accelerated life tests, and ongoing reliability monitoring tests.
    • Perform test reliability prediction models at component and system level.
    • Conduct test and failure analysis results to the Engineering team and collaborate with other groups within the Engineering team to develop design changes to improve reliability performance.
  • Test Equipment Maintenance
    • Install and Set-up necessary supporting equipment and components for testing. Operate the test assembly and instrumentation, measuring performance of products and record data as directed.
    • Testing of any parts or components for defects and compliance with engineering specification and drawings.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Support continuous improvement developments in the lab in accordance with Lean Initiative.
    • Follow all company safety requirements, procedures and participate in testing safety reviews.
  • Vendor Interface
    • Interface with vendors to source, purchase test and lab equipment to increase in house capability.
  • Quality Inspections
    • Inspects various materials, components, and assemblies to ensure product quality.
Requirements
  • Associate, technical degree, or equivalent test certifications and/or experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing and laboratory environment.
  • Experience using basic dimensional inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, etc., as well as advanced measuring equipment.
  • Skilled at performing troubleshooting and analyzing test failures.
  • Ability to set up and operating test laboratory equipment.
  • Proficient in reading drawings and test specifications.
  • Ability to write test reports, record data and communicate results.
  • Efficient at maintaining accurate records and log.
  • Capable of performing all required laboratory functions.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Effective at taking verbal and written instructions.
