Clinical Laboratory Technologist I

The individual in this role is a certified Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) tasked with the daily management of specimen handling, examination, and reporting of results.
This position encompasses the fundamental responsibilities of a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and manage specimens in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Develop and refine procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of testing and reporting.
- Support the supervisor, manager, or director with administrative tasks, including supply ordering and inventory management.
- Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and follow established procedures as outlined in procedure manuals.
- Generate, interpret, and communicate precise and reliable test results.
- Identify and resolve issues that may negatively impact test performance or the reporting of patient samples.
- Relay relevant section information and concerns to the supervisor, manager, or director.
- Conduct instrument maintenance and troubleshoot methods as necessary.
- Assist in documentation and uphold effective department quality assurance and quality control programs.
- Collaborate with other departments within PathGroup and its subsidiaries.
It is essential to be knowledgeable of and comply with the Corporate Compliance Program and all corporate policies, including those related to Privacy and Security.
Performance should align with the productivity standards established by current departmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
- Valid ASCP or AMT certification is required; candidates eligible for ASCP or AMT certification are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
- Maintain necessary continuing education for certification and licensure.
Experience:
One year of relevant job experience is preferred.
