The Technical Sales Specialist will be accountable for achieving the annual sales objectives for a designated territory as determined by management.

This role involves developing new client relationships, exploring market opportunities, and promoting innovative products in alignment with the company's strategic goals. The Specialist will maintain comprehensive knowledge of Unifrax's offerings, their applications, and relevant policies. Responsibilities include servicing all clients within the assigned area, providing management with market insights and competitive intelligence, and staying informed about market dynamics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Exceeding sales targets and objectives.
  • Engaging in frequent travel (approximately 75% of the time) within the designated territory, with potential international travel.
  • Creating and implementing effective territory strategies.
  • Maximizing customer engagement while minimizing travel time through efficient route planning.
  • Providing accurate sales forecasts regularly.
  • Utilizing CRM tools to track and manage sales opportunities and customer interactions.
  • Submitting timely and budget-compliant expense reports.
  • Formulating strategies to penetrate key competitive accounts.
  • Understanding and applying Value-Based Selling techniques to maximize opportunity value.


Collaboration with the application engineering team is essential for enhancing product knowledge, selling skills, and negotiation techniques. The Specialist will also:

  • Conduct regular sales meetings with the team.
  • Deliver technical presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Promote special initiatives such as marketing programs and training seminars.
  • Gather competitive data and share insights with the marketing team.
  • Work closely with customer service to address and resolve any issues.
  • Lead efforts to promote all product lines, focusing on those with higher profit margins.
Qualifications/Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in specialty materials and established market relationships.

Required qualifications include:
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in English communication.
  • Experience in sales and negotiation across various scales.
  • Familiarity with specialty materials and the industry landscape.
  • Proven success in selling technical products in industrial sectors.
  • Self-driven with a strong aptitude for relationship building.
  • Knowledge of CRM and ERP systems, as well as the ability to interpret engineering documents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial analysis.
