Job Summary

South Shore Health is seeking a highly skilled Community Paramedic to join our Emergency Medical Service (EMS) department. As a Community Paramedic, you will provide primary care and advanced life support to patients in need, with a focus on reducing morbidity and improving health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of critically ill and injured patients
  • Support existing health services and provide integrated health services in partnership with other health professionals
  • Extend access to health services delivery in underserved and general populations
  • Perform post-hospital release follow-up care, including medication management and vital sign monitoring
  • Conduct patient education on topics such as diabetes prevention, hypertension, and congestive heart failure
  • Administer patient care consistent with department protocols and physician orders
  • Coordinate appointments and follow-up with physicians and hospitals
  • Develop and complete reports and templates for the Community Paramedic Program
Requirements
  • At least two years' EMS experience preferred
  • Successful completion of the Community Paramedic class and clinical portion
  • Verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record
  • Required licenses and certifications, including ACLS, BLS, and EMT-P
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred certifications, including CNA and PALS
  • Successful completion of the MIH Curriculum (300 hours) set by the MIH Medical Director
