Job Overview

Position Summary

Prime Construction Group Inc. is seeking a dedicated Construction Project Coordinator with expertise in urban underground utilities, lift stations, stormwater management, gravity sewer systems, large diameter pressure pipelines, and mechanical piping systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage projects from the initial contract award to the final close-out.
  • Establish and monitor project budgets, job costing, and progress tracking.
  • Handle all subcontractor billing and supplier invoicing.
  • Conduct financial forecasting for project submissions.
  • Develop and update project schedules in collaboration with site supervisors and communicate schedule updates to stakeholders.
  • Review contracts to understand performance metrics, bonding requirements, and payment terms.
  • Ensure compliance with submittal reviews and contract obligations.
  • Lead project meetings to discuss progress and address issues.
  • Inspect construction sites to ensure adherence to engineering plans, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and surveys of structures and equipment.
  • Support field operations by managing plan take-offs, acquiring subcontractors, and handling contract-related administrative tasks.
  • Oversee the quality of subcontractor work and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Manage contractor commitments regarding costs, quality, schedules, and field operations.
  • Ensure the quality of work aligns with design specifications.
  • Test construction materials to comply with quality assurance standards.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among the company, clients, and design engineers to ensure timely project completion.
  • Implement traffic and pedestrian control measures for projects.
  • Verify the accuracy of pay applications and submit them to clients promptly.
  • Coordinate verification of as-built drawings with licensed surveyors.
  • Organize and lead post-construction evaluation meetings.
  • Supervise Project Management department staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Manage all financial aspects of projects to maximize profitability.
  • Ensure project operations comply with all contract documents.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of project estimates as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in Project Management or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Building Construction from an accredited institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction practices, procedures, and techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities; proactive and deadline-oriented; analytical with strong mathematical skills.
  • Familiarity with construction project contract administration.
  • Proficient in database, project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

Certifications:

  • Stormwater Erosion Control Certification
  • Intermediate or Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification
  • Confined Space and Trench Safety Certification (Preferred)
