Job Summary

STERIS is seeking a skilled Assembly Specialist to join our team in the production of Surgical Table products. As an Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining production levels and ensuring high-quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble Surgical Table products based on knowledge of component parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Use and understand torque wrenches and test equipment to troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain published productivity standards by utilizing a traveler, blueprint, and standard work.
  • Ensure high-quality standards are met by adhering to departmental quality ratings.
  • Maintain safe work areas and practice safe work habits.
  • Apply 5S tools, including the T-card system, to optimize workflow.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Shop Floor Control.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools, such as 5S and Kanban Inventory.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand schematics.
  • Experience using torque wrenches and test equipment, with related troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and stay quality-focused.
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions, both written and oral.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements.
  • Proven teamwork experience.
  • Ability to work overtime, if required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior AS400 experience.
  • Experience with hydraulics and electrical component assemblies.
