Position Summary:

This role involves serving as a technical expert for assembly areas in the General Assembly Department of an automotive manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include preparing process documents, installing and modifying equipment before new vehicle launches, monitoring and analyzing current production processes, and making improvements in 4M during non-launching periods.

Essential Functions:
  • Serve as technical expert of assigned area during vehicle launches
  • Coordinate and lead project activities, including new equipment installation, supplier selection, and implementation phases
  • Prepare spec packages after reviewing requirements (Quality, Safety, UPH, Layout, Ergonomics, etc.)
  • Communicate with Advanced Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Team in Korea and other relevant teams in R&D from Korea/USA for successful launch
  • Host video conferences in new vehicle design improvement and status follow-up meetings
  • Responsible for preparing Assembly Process Sheets considering method and line condition with detailed pictures and text
  • Work content to be explained through pictures drawn in workers' positions according to work content, work order, and work status
  • Responsible to record tightening torque from install drawings after checking bolt and nut quality from standard part sizes. Utilize standard torque charts if install drawings are not available
  • Determine Man Hour based on MODAPTS and optimize allocation
  • Analyze and continuously improve performance of assigned area (safety, quality, production, cost, and human factors)
  • Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and other problem-solving teams, as directed by Senior Management
  • Serve as technical expert for Team Members, Team Leaders, including technical training, as required
  • Support daily production issues as required
  • Continually review technical developments in area of responsibility and propose new technology projects as appropriate
  • Prepare presentations/reports on current projects, progress, and issues to management
  • Understand and control labor allocation
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent desired
Related Experience:
  • Experience in automotive machining processes, tooling capability, and dimensional quality systems desired
  • 0 - 10 years job-related experience in an engineering/industrial environment preferred
Skills / Knowledge:
  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • CATIA or similar CAD program
Additional Information:

This role may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off-shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
