Automotive Assembly Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to join our General Assembly Department at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our assembly processes, from preparation of process documents to monitoring and analyzing current production processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Serve as a technical expert for assigned areas during vehicle launches
- Coordinate and lead project activities, including new equipment installation, supplier selection, and implementation phases
- Prepare process documents, including Assembly Process Sheets, and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and production standards
- Communicate with cross-functional teams, including Advanced Vehicle Manufacturing Engineering Team in Korea and other relevant teams in R&D
- Host video conferences for new vehicle design improvement and status follow-up meetings
- Responsible for preparation of Assembly Process Sheets, considering method and line condition, with detailed pictures and text
- Work with team members to explain work content, work order, and work status through pictures drawn in the workers' position
- Record tightening torque from install drawings, checking bolt and nut quality from standard part sizes, and utilize standard torque charts if install drawings are not available
- Determine Man Hour based on MODAPTS and optimize allocation
- Analyze and continuously improve performance of assigned areas, including safety, quality, production, cost, and human factors
- Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and other problem-solving teams, as directed by Senior Management
- Serve as a technical expert for team members, team leaders, including technical training, as required
- Support daily production issues as required
- Continually review technical developments in area of responsibility and propose new technology projects as appropriate
- Prepare presentations/reports on current projects, progress, and issues to management
- Understand and control labor allocation
- Meet all other requirements as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent desired
- Experience in automotive machining processes, tooling capability, and dimensional quality systems desired
- 0-10 years job-related experience in an engineering/industrial environment preferred
- MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- CATIA or similar CAD program
