We are currently seeking a Visual Communications Specialist to enhance our talented team in the Washington, DC, area. This role involves providing both onsite and remote leadership for federal programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct policy analyses that support organizational planning, content creation, and execution of newly authorized programs for government clients.
  • Facilitate coordination among government clients across various working groups to ensure timely delivery of critical outputs and consistent policy messaging.
  • Collaborate with client leadership to establish and implement policy priorities that guide resource allocation in partnership with other office leads.
  • Revise designs based on feedback received.
  • Ensure that final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and align with brand standards.
  • Create design and branding materials, including but not limited to social media posts, email templates, online advertisements, and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Develop engaging layouts and templates utilizing effective typography, color schemes, and photography that reflect the desired visual tone (for both digital and print media).
  • Transform objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, consistent, and visually engaging.
  • Establish, maintain, and update existing brand/style guides, templates, and related brand assets to reflect the evolving brand identity.
  • Ensure design consistency that aligns with the brand's creative vision.
  • Produce impactful print materials that resonate with the digital brand identity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain client-issued Public Trust clearance.
  • A minimum of four years of demonstrated experience in graphic design.
  • Preferred experience in a graphic design capacity within government programs, the energy sector, or related fields.
  • A robust portfolio showcasing illustrations or other graphic works.
  • Proficiency in design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop).
  • Expertise in photo retouching, image manipulation, and illustration for icons and branded elements.
  • Competence in video editing and basic animation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a solid understanding of fundamental business writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree
