Position Overview: The Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in guiding clients through their event journeys, pinpointing solutions that align with their objectives, thereby crafting an exceptional event experience.
This role leverages all available resources to maximize event and revenue opportunities from the designated client portfolio. The Sales Manager fosters and nurtures relationships with key hotel staff to enhance the overall business rapport with the venue. This position aligns with Company initiatives, business strategies, and Core Values, reporting to a Senior Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director of Event Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Generation: Achieve results by proactively soliciting and securing business through a consultative sales approach, utilizing Encore's established sales methodologies.
- Prepare and present quotes and proposals promptly to clients, including those received through the venue booking system or other designated channels.
- Collaborate effectively with vendors and various departments within the company to capture and service events.
- Participate in site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and relevant venue discussions to support the customer event experience.
- Understand the event cost structure and integrate this knowledge into solution designs while adhering to profitability guidelines.
Relationship Management:
- Deliver exceptional service by cultivating and maintaining relationships with clients, venue personnel, and various Encore support functions.
- Conduct thorough research on customer history and past experiences to create personalized interactions.
- Attend client meetings to understand their objectives and address their inquiries, concerns, and challenges.
- Ensure all customer information is accurately maintained in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Actively refer and guide clients through the Encore network, leveraging connections to secure additional opportunities.
Sales Accountability:
- Maintain a robust pipeline to ensure the achievement of established revenue targets.
- Ensure all known opportunities are accurately recorded and updated in the CRM system.
- Support sales forecasting efforts at the home location, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Stay informed about new product/service offerings and emerging technologies that support meetings and events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 1 year of Encore or equivalent experience required.
- 1 year of technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
- Prior sales experience in audiovisual services is advantageous.
- Familiarity with the hospitality industry and sales processes is preferred.
- Technical aptitude and proficiency in computer skills are essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities are required.
Work Environment: The role is conducted in a hotel/convention center setting, with moderate exposure to outdoor conditions and dust. Working conditions may vary from moderately quiet to noisy environments. Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and may work at various hotel locations. Working hours may include irregular schedules and on-call status, encompassing days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
