Job Summary

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our High Voltage Switchgear Division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing high-voltage switchgear products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Perform engineering activities that support the design, development, and manufacture of new high-voltage switchgear products and the advancement of existing circuit breaker products.
  • Product Validation: Engineer new designs to meet requirements specified by customers and/or industry specifications, and perform validation of new, modified, and prototype designs for functional performance, manufacture, assembly, and service.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead root cause evaluations of Category I failures or other defects as assigned, and originate, select, and/or maintain purchasing specifications for all components of high-voltage switchgear products.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Provide support to other high-voltage switchgear departments in the areas of production, product documentation, vendor qualification, field service, customer specifications review, and technical consultation.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years' experience in a design engineering capacity, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of circuit breaker technology, design, and power transmission, as well as experience and deep knowledge of vacuum interruption theory.
  • Soft Skills: Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required to communicate with customers, employees, and suppliers, as well as the ability to work in a team environment and on several projects simultaneously.
