Financial Operations Accountant
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Financial Operations Accountant is responsible for executing various accounting tasks including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll analysis, general ledger maintenance, and month-end closing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage Accounts Payable and Cash Disbursements
  • Prepare and issue billings
  • Record incoming cash receipts
  • Conduct Bank and other account reconciliations
  • Process payroll and related functions
  • Collaborate with internal and external accounting teams to assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements, as well as consolidated financial statements and other accounting schedules and reports in line with the monthly closing plan
  • Review financial statements, investigate discrepancies, and rectify any inaccuracies
  • Maintain comprehensive records for disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial accounts
  • Support and assist with annual tax returns and other corporate reporting obligations.
  • Aid in preparations for the annual audit.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper accounting for revenue, purchases, and expenses.
  • Maintain accounting systems to guarantee accurate and efficient recording of financial transactions.
  • Assist the Controller and CFO in the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Required Skills:
  • Strong work ethic and capability to collaborate with operational functions
  • Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial statement preparation
  • Proficiency with Unanet in an accounting or reporting capacity is required
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience
Additional Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with government development programs and contracting.
  • Experience in a startup or project-based engineering environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Unanet is highly desired
  • Understanding of FAR/DCAA Regulations is highly desired
