We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tour Development Director to join our team at ExperienceFirst. As a key member of our commercial department, you will play a crucial role in driving growth and revenue in Europe.

About the Role

  • Lead the development of our commercial tour portfolio for Europe, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends.
  • Collaborate closely with our Head of Commercial and Destination teams to identify opportunities for expansion and optimization.
  • Accountable for achieving revenue and margin targets for new products.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to maintain a competitive edge and meet profit targets.
  • Design and execute yield management processes to maximize profitability while minimizing cancellations.
  • Establish meaningful connections with local businesses, charities, and enterprises to enhance customer engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of market expansion plans for Europe, identifying new markets for entry.
  • Evaluate product quality and implement processes to optimize customer experience.
  • Secure favorable terms with stakeholders, including attractions, DMCs, OTAs, and tour operators.
  • Provide regular market research and industry insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to interpret e-commerce data and drive regional product growth.
  • Pursue strategic trade events to promote our tour portfolio and strengthen partnerships.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, with extensive contacts in the attractions and tours industry.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Europe, with a range of contacts and experience to implement quick wins and long-term strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with expertise in building, presenting, and interpreting data sets within a commercial context.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to align with core business objectives.
  • Experience in positioning and marketing products through partners, including OTAs, tour operators, and pass providers.
  • Solid commercial acumen, with the ability to educate colleagues on process implementation and adherence.
  • Great presentation skills, comfortable delivering presentations and business proposals to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Capacity to balance competing priorities, driving scale and revenue while maintaining high quality standards and prioritizing customer experience.
