POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily functions of all Human Resources activities. This includes ensuring compliance with legal standards in job postings, managing the onboarding process for new hires, overseeing benefits administration, payroll processing, and maintaining personnel documentation in accordance with relevant laws.

This position is ideal for an individual with three to five years of experience in human resources, possessing a comprehensive understanding of employment legislation and HR regulations.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in human resources.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and detail-oriented with a sense of humor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting key information to senior management.
  • Integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to legal compliance.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while maintaining fairness and consistency in policy enforcement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in not-for-profit organizations.
  • Background in Administrative Management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:General Human Resources Management:
  • Update and maintain the employee handbook and job descriptions as necessary.
  • Ensure a compliant recordkeeping system for employment documents.
  • Guarantee that all HR and payroll information adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with finance personnel to process payroll bi-weekly.
  • Facilitate staff enrollment in health benefits and act as a liaison for inquiries.
  • Oversee the 401K benefit program.
  • Assist employees with payroll and benefits-related questions.
  • Organize and maintain personnel files accurately.
  • Conduct employee surveys and manage harassment claims as needed.
  • Review compliance with wage and hour regulations.
  • Support department heads with necessary documentation.
  • Assist in employee counseling and termination processes.
  • Manage leaves of absence in accordance with state laws.
  • Handle workers' compensation claims and administration.
  • Contribute to the development of new HR policies.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all legal paperwork is completed.
  • Manage offboarding processes for resignations and terminations.
  • Revise job descriptions with input from department leaders.
  • Collaborate with the Onboarding Committee to enhance the onboarding experience.
Administrative Functions:
  • Perform general clerical tasks, including document management and distribution.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee files and sensitive documents.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating staff meetings and gatherings.
  • Support the Leadership Team with data entry and administrative projects.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Promote the mission of the organization and support its overall well-being.
  • Participate in regular meetings and team-building activities.
  • Assist with organizational events as required.
  • Travel as necessary for job functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Capable of reading from a screen and using a keyboard.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Part-time position (up to 25 hours per week).
  • Most work will occur during standard business hours with occasional evening and weekend commitments.
  • This role does not include supervisory responsibilities.
COMPENSATION:

The compensation package includes an hourly pay rate of $28.00, based on experience. Part-time employees working over 20 hours per week are eligible for vision and dental insurance, 401K plan participation with employer match, paid holidays, sick days, and accrued Personal Time Off (PTO).
