Position Overview:

The main duty of a Sales Associate is to deliver an outstanding shopping experience to each customer by utilizing Kirkland's customer service principles while assisting with various operational and merchandising tasks under the guidance of the management team. Sales Associates contribute to sales growth by adapting to multiple roles such as selling, processing transactions, restocking, setting up displays, and maintaining cleanliness. Prioritizing customer service is essential, regardless of the assigned task.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and values customer service in both in-store and online shopping experiences.
  • Engages actively with all customers, demonstrating exceptional sales techniques.
  • Welcomes every customer with enthusiasm and maintains a positive attitude at all times.
  • Proactively interacts with customers, interpreting cues and responding appropriately.
  • Informs each customer about loyalty programs, current promotions, and product offerings to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Upholds the company’s branding by treating all customers and colleagues with respect and professionalism while working towards common objectives.
  • Meets or surpasses targets associated with company initiatives and programs.
  • Assists in the safe, timely, and efficient receipt of all merchandise.
  • Helps maintain an organized and efficient sales floor and stockroom.
  • Supports the presentation, pricing, and accuracy of inventory levels.

  • May undertake additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Dynamic, customer-focused, and results-driven with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret company directives, handbooks, and manuals.
  • Flexibility to work a schedule that meets the store's business needs.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders to retrieve and stock products or to hang overhead displays.
  • Frequently positions oneself to retrieve and stock products in both the stockroom and sales floor, as well as to bag merchandise.
  • Must be able to stand and move around the store for extended periods to greet and assist customers.
  • Regularly communicates with customers in person, electronically, and via phone.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and move merchandise weighing 50 pounds or more between the stockroom and sales floor.
  • Proficient in operating Point of Sale systems, registers, and handheld devices efficiently and accurately.
