  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing retail auto sales.
  • Set personal income goals aligned with dealership productivity standards and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Keep updated on new products, features, and their advantages for customers.
  • Comprehend equity and values, and explain depreciation to customers.
  • Facilitate introductions between customers and the sales manager.
  • Ensure all closed deals are forwarded to the finance and insurance manager with complete documentation.
  • Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to their arrival.
  • Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's features, warranty, and necessary paperwork.
  • Introduce customers to service department staff to highlight the quality of service available.
  • Schedule the first service appointment.
  • Follow up on all post-delivery items to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Review and assess daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly performance to optimize time management and planning.
  • Attend sales meetings regularly.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must effectively fulfill each essential duty. The following qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience.
Language Proficiency
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capable of writing basic correspondence and effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business periodicals and technical procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from various groups.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to perform calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Reasoning Skills
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions in various formats.
  • Ability to identify problems, gather data, and draw valid conclusions.
