Evening RN Unit Supervisor

Kensington Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated RN Unit Manager to oversee nursing operations during the evening shift.
The RN Unit Manager is responsible for coordinating nursing care delivery to residents while providing leadership to the nursing team, ensuring that care standards are upheld and that residents receive the highest quality of care.
This role requires functioning effectively as a team member, leader, and supervisor to facilitate work completion and deliver quality care, while also supporting team members and celebrating collective achievements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring adequate nursing staffing levels to maintain quality resident care.
- Collaborating with the staff scheduler to monitor attendance and address disciplinary matters as necessary.
- Identifying staffing needs and communicating with the Director of Nursing.
- Assisting in the orientation and ongoing training of new nursing staff.
- Developing and communicating shift assignments while monitoring job performance to ensure compliance with nursing standards.
- Facilitating communication with ancillary departments and nursing staff regarding resident conditions and needs during shift changes.
- Ensuring adherence to established departmental policies and procedures.
- Evaluating staff performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Recognizing staff achievements appropriately.
- Participating in center projects, program development, and committees as required.
- Addressing resident, family, and staff concerns promptly and effectively.
- Participating in case management for residents.
- Submitting reports and completing Home Office monitors in a timely manner.
- Identifying quality improvement opportunities and assisting in coordinating necessary actions.
- Investigating and reporting any allegations of resident abuse or neglect.
The RN Unit Manager will also review telephone orders daily to ensure proper documentation and maintain effective communication with the Director of Nursing or designee regarding unit issues.
This position includes participation in an on-call rotation and assumes 24-hour responsibility for the assigned unit.
In addition, the RN Unit Manager will manage nursing operations, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively while delivering quality care to all residents.
Qualifications include:
- A Nursing degree from an accredited institution or graduation from an approved RN program.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in long-term care.
