About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Carilion Clinic as a Technical Support Specialist.

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide technical support for our enterprise infrastructure, including desktop hardware and peripherals. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, performing installations and configurations, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Perform installations and configurations of desktop hardware and peripherals, including PCs, laptops, printers, and telephony systems.
  • Provide technical support to clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring prompt resolution to identified problems.
  • Assist with small-scale projects involving installation and changes to desktop assets.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple technologies, including desktop/laptop hardware, printers, and telephony.
  • Manage small projects and meet deadlines with moderate supervision from more experienced peers, Supervisor, and/or Manager.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one technology.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum two years' experience in computer electronics, PC and/or telephony support.
  • Experience in microcomputers and supporting desktop hardware/software required.
  • Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation.
  • CompTIA A+, Dell Hardware Certification (WPD), and other relevant certifications preferred.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. The salary range has been calculated based on the location and industry standards. This figure may vary based on individual qualifications and performance.
