As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of donors and staff. You will be responsible for determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results.

Estimated Salary

The estimated hourly wage range for this position is $25-$35 per hour. Actual hourly wages may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, location, and specific skills.

Job Description

The Medical Support Specialist works under the direct supervision of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operational guidance and under the supervision of the Center Physician for medical issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulations in the plasma collection industry and/or manufacturing environment.

  • Determine donor eligibility accurately and in a timely manner, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Evaluate and manage donor reactions, which occur at the facility, according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needed for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Maintain applicable employee medical records and assist with the EHS program as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from a recognized educational program.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
