POSITION SUMMARY:The MR Technologist is responsible for operating MRI equipment to capture detailed images of patients' bodies for diagnostic evaluation. This role includes providing expert guidance and technical assistance to MRI services, ensuring adherence to professional standards while delivering exceptional customer service. Continuous self-improvement and staying informed about advancements in the field are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Creating a Positive Patient Experience:
- Conducts both routine and complex MRI examinations on specified body areas for physician review in diagnosing and treating medical conditions, with minimal supervision.
- Evaluates patients prior to procedures to identify any necessary precautions or contraindications.
- Prepares patients for MRI scans by clearly explaining the process and positioning them appropriately for optimal imaging.
- Adjusts scanning parameters as necessary to ensure high-quality images.
- Fosters a collaborative atmosphere with radiologists, referring physicians, and colleagues.
- Engages with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families as needed.
- Adheres strictly to physician directives and safety protocols to safeguard patients and staff.
- Maintains precise patient documentation within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Ensures a clean and organized workspace, promoting safety for all.
- Upholds ACR toolkit and accreditation standards.
Departmental Responsibilities:
- Ensures MRI equipment is well-maintained and sanitized after each use.
- Assists in updating the MRI protocol manual and implementing software enhancements.
- Monitors inventory levels of medical supplies.
- Supports the training of new staff by sharing knowledge and technical skills.
Additional Duties:
- Performs other responsibilities as required.
